Bosworth 08

I stayed up until midnight to upload it at the beginning of August 22!
Which, as you all know by now, is the anniversary of the battle of Bosworth, where Richard III lost his life, 523 years ago.

I finally had the opportunity to go to the Bosworth Battlefield centre in June, and the evening before the visit it occured to me that I could make a drawing to leave there. So I sketched and coloured very quickly the first idea that came to my mind, and on the next morning I took it to the Sutton Cheney church and slipped in on the side of the brass plaque that remembers Richard. I remembered to take a photo of it at the last moment , and in my emotive state (I was very moved that day) I took only one shot and I didn't check it. So I'm sorry for the low quality of the reproduction you see here Of course I had no scanner in the middle of Leicestershire. Neither I had references for the right 1485 helmet.
Naturally, before the tour it never occurred to me that I could make a decent watercolour to leave somewhere in memory I did this in no more than one hour and a half - two hours on my Mead Académie sketchbook, crossing fingers for the paper not to crumble under the water.

And yes, I take my watercolour in travels!
