Oscar and Bosie by cabepfir Oscar and Bosie by cabepfir
Writing a Woman of no importance (possibly).

A gift for wonderful *Sigune who helped me so much with the translation of The Boar.

Watercolour on Clairefontaine Etival 250 gr. Inked with Windson & Newton's Peat Brown.

I tried to follow ~moonytash's use of little shading, though I couldn't help adding some free shades more.

I find Oscar on this picture so much cuter than Bosie... And he look pretty exited about something - I dunno why, but imagine him telling Bosie what his next play will be all about, scribbling his ideas down at the same time. And Bosie is just like "Oh, I'm not interested, Oscar..." XD

If I remember correctly, this is set when Wilde was writing A Woman of No Importance. I must have read somewhere, back then, that it was an happy moment for Wilde, although Bosie was not equally pleased with staying in the country. I can't find an exact reference, now, but the idea is pretty much that one, yes. Thank you!

my english teacher had some books called the importance of being ernest (i think thats how it is spelled) and it had the bio for oscar wilde in the back i'm not sure if it was talking about a diffrent oscar wilde but it said that he married a woman i can't remeber her name and he had kids now i never saw the movie wilde which was the bio of oscar wilde and it had a part where he slept with bosie so i don't know if the two are diffrent people or not. also sorry for the lond comment i have this huge obsession about writing and sometikes i get carried away!

Certainly, as a proper gentleman of his age Oscar Wilde married Constance Mary Lloyd in 1884 and had two sons, Cyril and Vyvyan. She was forced to leave Oscar because of the scandal and her sons' surname was changed into Holland.

This is lovely... You've really done him justice with the scene.

For some odd reason, I could quite possibly spend a whole afternoon staring at Oscar's slippers. I love them.

Oscar and Bosie... God, I could never believed that they just broke down.. That Oscar died in fact alone, without man who he truly loved(even if this man was rowdy brat...). Anyway, your drawing is really pretty:) Love its concept and the way it was done.

very beautiful! Although, I can't help but hate Bosie just a little bit. I'm a Robby lover all the way~ <3 But this is lovely! I love how Oscar's so happy ,and Bosie's sort of depressed. Although I've heard that Oscar never wrote while Bosie was around...too distracting i guess ;)

Well, Robbie is maybe more "positive" than Bosie, but as a character, I find Bosie more interesting... An handsome and capricious little tyrant!
Here I wanted to show him more bored than depressed, in truth, or possibly concentrated in reading papers. I haven't decided if he is reading some of his own works or the same play that is being written by Oscar.
I've decided to specify that the play is A Woman of no importance because I've read in my little biography that Oscar wrote it in the countryside, hosting Bosie, and that it was a somewhat quiet time in their relationship.

yah....I'm jsut sad there's so little Robby love!

lol I can sort of tell that WoNI was written with Bosie around. I'm doing a directing note book on it in my theater class and casting Jude Law as Lord Darlington. I'll even use a bosie picture of him for it.

but leik I said- STILL really pretty

Well, I don't know if I will do other Wilde-related art in the future (this was a present for an Oscar lover!), but I will hopefully do other things in the same style.
