Another fanart for "Carlo Magno pensava a ben altro" by Scilla Bonfiglioli, a modern retelling of The Song of Roland.
On the left Olivier. He has been wounded to death by the Saracen knight Margariz.
On the right Roland. His temples got burst when he blew the olifant. He doesn't see anymore, because blood is streaming down his eyelids.
Next to him, his beloved Olivier, his bright moon, is dying.
Night is falling and Charlemagne is just half an hour from here.
This one has been made on a new paper sheet, an Hahnemühle Bamboo Mixed Media (265 gr). It is a really versatile paper and it allows both blending and taking from.
